James was able to live the childhood dream of playing football in college and now competes as hard in the boardroom as he did on the gridiron. He spent the early part of his professional life in IT consulting working on ERP & CRM implementations. He also had the opportunity to start several new businesses in the US and Australia.
His career took an academic detour when he tried to build a startup to pay for his graduate degree. This would ignite a passion for helping build the startup ecosystem around Los Angeles that has not stopped. Around this same time he started acquiring short term vacation rentals and now mentors others on how they can make real estate a more significant part of their overall investment portfolios.
James is a two-time USC graduate, earning his undergraduate degree in International Relations and his Executive MBA from the Marshall School of Business. He was a team captain for the 2004 Rose Bowl National Championship team and was also a captain for the USC Rugby team. He is helping give back to his alma mater by building the investment network for the Trojan Family. He has two young athletic kids that keep him constantly on the go.
